My serial posting of my GOSPEL work will resume shortly. Some important goings-on are currently drawing my attention, though, which I thought I’d share. (Also, this seemed like a good time to pause and note that you can find the full GOSPEL postings to date here, and that I recommend reading the introductions if you haven’t alredy for important context-setting.)
As for what’s drawing my attention, the first is some very important research I’m doing that aims to update James Fowler’s faith development model. I’ll be announcing more about that soon, but this research is, along with my Cultural Complexity Index initative, part of the broader project I’m developing through the Evolution of Meaning series. (BTW, the audiobook version of Volume 1. A Universal Learning Process read by Layman Pascal is now out!) Here’s a video I made outlining some of the bigger picture context for these studies:
Again, I’ll be posting more about this all soon, so stay tuned! And, if you’d like to support the effort, consider donating to my Meaning Lab GoFundMe, or switch from an unpaid to a paid Substack subscription. Both help a lot for funding these efforts.
Even the faith development research has needed to take a backseat to all the springtime work happening here around Sky Meadow. Starting on the 16th, a weeklong work-exchange residency has been underway during which a whole lot of work has gotten done. Fixing the Hobbit House roof, tilling and prepping new garden beds, cutting and stacking wood for all the fire pits, etc.
Upcoming are a couple of big conference presentations as well. This Friday, I’ll be presenting at the UTOK Conference on Consciousness, talking about the relationship of meaning and value to consciousness as well as the implications for AI.
The following weekend I’ll be down at Harvard for the Human Transformation in a Time of Metacrisis gathering. I’ll be offering a workshop around the meaning crisis on May 3.
I’ll of course post any recordings etc. that emerge from these and other exciting things happening. Stay tuned.
I am unable to keep up with all you are doing, but I love dipping my toe in as often as I can. Thanks for all you do.
