As I announced last week, Sky Meadow will be hosting its spring Metamodern Spirituality Lab on May 16-18 (with an optional pre-retreat beginning on the 13th for those who want to come early to deepen into the space and help co-construct the opening emergent ritual). This spring, our orienting theme will be metamodern contemplations/explorations of “the subtle.”
What’s a “metamodern spirituality lab” exactly?, you may be wondering.
Well, these bi-annual gatherings have been happening regularly for the past 3 years and mark a sort of seasonal (spring and fall) calendar for communion of liminal meaning-makers, mythopoets, meta-shamans, and the like. At the helm is the inimitable
, who guides discussions, practices, and opens the floor for group explorations and presentations. As usual, though, the best things happen in the in-between interstices, and there’s plenty of free time for spontaneous deep conversation, communing with nature, meeting new friends, and general “vibing.”
Here’s a write-up from Psychology Today on some of the basic contours from the second gathering.
I’ll be posting a bit more about it all over the coming weeks, and sharing reflections and pictures from previous events.
Here, for instance, is a reflection from the second lab with me, Layman, and Bruce Alderman:
Spots are still open for the spring gathering. Go to www.skymeadowinstitute.org to learn more/register.
