With the rise of language and culture, human beings entered a new dimension of learning: Symbolic Learning. Unlike genetic or cognitive learning, symbolic learning allows us to share meanings, justify our actions, and build collective worldviews. From a child’s first immersion in language to the formation of religions, ideologies, and philosophies, culture is where meaning becomes intersubjective and collective. Here I explore Justification Systems Theory, self-consciousness, and the emergence of the ego and persona within society. It shows how symbolic communication enables humans to “think together,” weaving personal meaning into collective cultural frameworks that guide survival, cooperation, and identity.
