THE RELIGIOUS AUTHORITIES PLOT
18 1But the clergy were angry, and they began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus.
2“We have heard him blaspheme against Moses and against God!”
3“Look! He is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!”
4“He is demon-possessed and raving mad!”
5Thus, the chief priests and the Pharisees summoned the Temple guards, and asked them, “Why haven’t you brought him in?”
6“No one’s ever spoken the way this man does,” the guards replied.
7“Don’t tell us he has deceived you too?” the Pharisees retorted. “Have any one of the authorities or Pharisees believed him? No! But this mob that knows nothing of the Rules—there is a curse on them.”
8Then Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus earlier and who was one of their own number, asked, “Do our Rules condemn a man without first hearing him to find out what he has been doing?”
9They replied, “Are you from Galilee, too? Consult the Scriptures, and you will find that a prophet does not come out of Galilee.” 10And they plotted to arrest Jesus in secret and kill him.
THE RELIGIOUS AUTHORITIES PLOT
I like to call them the Bible teachers because the evangelical douchebags who call themselves Bible teachers today have the same personalities.
